Kinngait means "high mountain"or"where the hills are" formerly known as Cape Dorset, is an Inuit hamlet located on Dorset Island near Foxe Peninsula at the southern tip of Baffin Island.

Kingmeata Etidlooie was a graphic artist and sculptor from Kimmirut. Settling in Cape Dorset in the mid-1960s, she joined the West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative and went on to produce many striking visuals in prints, drawings and paintings.

As one of the first users of the Co-op’s painting studio, Etidlooie was regularly able to experiment with her medium, establishing her own unique style as a result.
